7 years ago, I gave birth to a premature child with malrotated organs.

His name is Russell Tyrian and he has Down Syndrome.

After his operation

He went into a major surgery 2 days after. Ours is a medically needy child that requires care from a Cardiologist, Ophthalmologist, Pulmonologist, Endocrinologist, and Developmental Doctor with frequent visits to his Pediatrician, Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapists, and a few hospitalizations per year.

Some might fear this life. Expensive, time consuming and you constantly have to worry about the health and development of your child. But I look at him everyday, and I get to experience this immeasurable joy and love, and not a day goes by that we aren't completely amazed and grateful that we are the ones blessed to be entrusted with this strong beautiful boy.

1st Boracay trip

We didn't go through that emotional ups and downs. For us, it was just a celebration from day 1 up until now. Everyday we celebrate him, all of him. He opened our eyes in a very different way, the way he would look at things and make us stop and get down to his level and look at things with him. He makes us see things in a different light, hear things differently, and feel things differently. He added so much more to our family, and we would always be grateful for him. ❤
