At a time when we have to be more environmentally conscious, it's encouraging to find companies like Freitag X Urban Traveler Co. ( @freitaglab ) who utilize recyclables/upcyclables by making them fashionable, useful and hip. This brand caters to the mid range - higher end market perhaps to help change the mindset of those who have the capacity to influence.

Awareness

By raising awareness and appreciation for what some might consider as junk (truck tarps, seat belts and PET textile to name a few), perhaps this brand might just teach people to be less wasteful and value sustainable and reusable materials.

They have a wide variety of products from wallets to shoulder bags, laptop bags, backpacks, travel bags, shopper bags etc, made from compostable textiles and meant for even rugged use, and comes with a 3 year warranty. 👍

The Event

This pop up event was an eye opener and an absolute privilege, not just because I learned about how these fantastic products are made, but I also got to participate in the process by making a key chain, and of course the highlight was I got to bring home one of their designer bags that is made out of used truck tarps, car seat belts and 100% recycled PET textile. Who would've thought that used materials can be this fashionable, right?!
